Not Another Micro-Bidding Site!

When we were first approached about building Bidolotto, the initial reaction was: does Colorado Web Design really want to introduce yet another micro-bidding site to a saturated grey market of websites? There are so many semi-legitimate bidding sites out there, sometimes called micro-bid sites or penny auction sites, that we had strong reservations.

That's not to say it wasn't tempting! Colorado Web Design prides ourselves on the ability to build any web application from the ground up. Through usability testing, debugging and deployment, Colorado Web Design is your trusted partner to make sure you and your customers get precisely the experience needed.

Application Design requires a steady, experienced working group. Let Colorado Web Design show you why we are the preferred web application specialists in Northern Colorado.

A Novel Approach

Bidolotto by Maximum Geek Web DesignWhat finally convinced us to take the project was the novel approach Bidolotto's founder had. Instead of penny auctions where people spend sometimes hundreds of dollars, one $.01 bid at a time, and end up with nothing, Bidolotto was going to be more exclusive and also more transparent to users. Users could "buy in" to any auction they wished for a small price, reducing the number of competing bidders from potentially millions, down to tens or hundreds of bidders.

The system is also unique in how it treats sellers. All retail sellers must have a real store-front, and they are protected in their sales by the system itself. Instead of someone getting away with an $11 laptop, the auction does not start until enough people have "bought-in" to the auction to pay for the product itself.

Sellers have their own management console, in order to set up product listings as well as initiate auctions. This seamless, intuitive interface ensures that Bidolotto will be embraced by retailers of all types, from small shops looking to increase their web presence all the way to established larger retailers who see the opportunity to move a higher volume of goods using the strength of crowd sourcing.
