Colorado Web Design Gives Back
Colorado Web Design is very proud to announce our newest collaboration with a non-profit organization. Muzart World Foundation™ aims to reverse the trend of vanishing arts and music education in our public schools.
As long-time musicians, the founders of Colorado Web Design realized how critical this work could be to something very close to our hearts.
Working with a very talented team of volunteers, we built the main donation site where Muzart gets the message out, explains the plan, and accepts donations and volunteer commitments large and small.
Labor of Love
Most of us can remember some good experiences, maybe even wonderful experiences, thanks to art class or music class as we progressed through our early education. Depending on your location though, today's kids may not receive ANY exposure to art and music in their public school curricula.
There are many complicated reasons why this trend is occurring, but one thing is clear: a critical piece of our marvelous educational heritage in this country is in jeopardy of getting squeezed out entirely, for the sake of math and science.
While math and science are very important, one might argue that our effort to remain holistic as we educate our children in this country has led to some extremely well-rounded generations of people, with a richness in knowledge and experience that the best math brains in other countries could never understand.
There is even evidence that music or hands-on art projects activate and use parts of the brain that straight math and science problem-solving cannot activate. Indeed research suggests that singing in a group with other singers uses more parts of the growing brain than any other recorded activity.
