Total Body Tracker

Total Body Tracker is our most advanced website to date. Starting with the food, meal and exercise planner, we built a state of the art calendar interface, that allows users to drag and drop searched food items right into the correct time slot.

Once an item is dropped, a nutritional label appe ars for that item, providing detailed vitamin and nutrient analysis.

But that's only the beginning.

Once a day or week of food items has been added, the user can get sophisticated summary details about their nutritional habits including deficiency calculations and warnings, as well as toxicity warnings.

Then it got complicated!

First we built a subsystem that lets people assemble food items into meal/recipes that they could share with other users on the site; all of this with complete nutritional breakdown of the meal.

Along with tracking exercises and providing net calorie information, Total Body Tracker takes it another step forward, with detailed charting and trend graphs showing users their detailed food and exercise behaviors, split along numerous different axes such as Nutritional Breakdown by Foods Eaten, Exercise Performance by Time of Day, etc.

Building a Community

Total Body TrackerIf that was everything that Total Body Tracker did, it would be a remarkable website, but there is still more! We built a full community subsystem, including a Buddy system with messaging and forums, as well as advanced sharing options for food and meal items created on the site.

The Community aspects of the site also allowed people to communicate with their "lagging" Buddies that had not logged in recently. In this way, the site achieves a "Buddy Accountability" function that has never been achieved in modern diet programs.

We also wanted to provide people with a way to compile a list of foods they were planning to eat in order to take it to the grocery store. This list is built intelligently, adding up individual portions of repeat items, so rather than saying:

1 cup milk
1 cup milk
2 cup milk

...the site calculates 1 quart of milk. The attention to detail in the user experience was uncommon with this project, but Colorado Web Design was more than up to the task.

Content Management by Colorado Web Design

Finally we built a functional content management system (CMS) using custom CMS code, to deliver the critical elements of our smaller scale CMS products. This system allows multiple layers of content categories, intuitive word processing capabilities right on the web page, and an end to end content management capability including publishing and archival. Multiple versions of a piece of content are intact and ready for reuse, so there is no risk of losing any older material.

Check out the articles peppered throughout the website, all managed by our custom CMS.

Then check out the video demos of the food and exercise tracking system in action!
